BIO
Jennye Stubblefield presently lives and paints from her studio in San Antonio, Texas. She is a native of Kentucky, where her love of the landscape arose. Before moving to San Antonio, she completed her classical training in painting and printmaking at The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts, and degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She received many awards and traveling grants to send in Europe to further her studies. Presently, she actively displays and ships her work around the United States to numerous Invitational and Juried Exhibition each year.
Stubblefield considers herself an Aerial Landscape Painter that enjoys teetering between abstraction and representation painting through this perspective. With an aerial lens, she examines and replicates her impressions of the earth and sky. Taking flights and surveying its vastness has inspired creations of the sublime in nature, but from a new modern perspective. The typography of the earth is a catalyst for creative compositions, designs, and color constructs. She allows the unique abstractions of the landscape to show through and sometimes dominate in her paintings.
